About us

My name is Antoinette Thomson and I am the owner and operator of Heart AT Home Pet Care. My husband, Kris and I have lived in Smithfield, RI for almost 5 years. We bought our home in 2015 and love living in RI. We have a 8 year old boxer named Vader. As the only "child", he is pretty much as spoiled as any only child is and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Now a little background about how the business started. I started pet sitting for my husband's parents when they would go on vacation. They didn't want to board their dogs because they had never been away from the home before. With me staying at their house, their dogs didn't have to be ripped away from their homes and daily routines. This concept really hit home for me. Just the thought of having to board Vader while I was away, broke my heart. And thus, Heart AT Home Pet Care was born.

The main concept of Heart AT Home Pet Care is to stay with pets while their owners are away. This way they can continue with their daily routines as much as possible. They have the luxury of being comfortable in their own home even though there is an unfamiliar face in their house.  We like to start with a meet and greet with the pets while their owners are home. This gives them a chance to get to know us in the most comfortable environment as possible for them. We like to go above and beyond for our clients to make them feel as comfortable as possible while they are missing their family members.
